Ecological Restoration Internship

Investing in future ecological leaders, scientists, and change makers.

Pacific Rim Institute has been developing new organizational relationships aimed at filling the gap in young people as there is a growing population of young adults wondering how to integrate their concerns for the future of the planet with their deep values and vocational goals. Through an emerging partnership with Circlewood and A Rocha USA we have launched a year-long Ecological Restoration Internship Program.

Our three interns for 2024-2025 - Lana Rasmussen, Sam Turner, and Lillian Robinson, began their work in September. We are enjoying getting to know them as they gain valuable creation care experience, further their careers, and develop a more ecologically conscious worldview.

In addition to the work around PRI, we are seeking opportunities for the interns to work with new organizations and gain new skills in their time here on Whidbey Island. They've already done work at Padilla Bay and with the Whidbey Camano Land Trust at Admiralty Inlet.

Whether it is contributing to their monthly stipend or to the supplies they may need purchased to complete their work, you can help support these future ecological stewards on their journey.

Contact the office if you'd like to meet the interns in a formal setting or say hi when you see them working at PRI.
